Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our team at
Minnesota Valley Country Club. This individual will play a key role in the maintenance and management of the golf course grounds, ensuring a high-quality playing surface while upholding environmental and sustainability standards. The ideal candidate will possess 3-5 years of hands-on experience in golf course maintenance and management, with a proven track record of leadership, teamwork, and dedication to excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and execution of the golf course maintenance programs, including turf management, irrigation, pesticide application, and fertilization.
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the grounds crew, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
- Monitor turf health, irrigation systems, and overall course conditions, and recommend improvements as needed.
- Help manage and maintain all aspects of the golf course, including fairways, greens, tees, bunkers, and landscaping areas.
- Assist in budget management and inventory control for course maintenance supplies and equipment.
- Collaborate with the Golf Course Superintendent on agronomic practices, seasonal planning, and special projects.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in golf course maintenance, with hands-on experience in turf management.
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree in Turfgrass Management, Horticulture, Agronomy, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of golf course maintenance equipment, irrigation systems, and turf care practices.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment under varying weather conditions.
- Ability to obtain a Minnesota Pesticide Applicators License within 60 days of employment.
