Tianna Country Club has an opening beginning September 1, 2024, for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. The person should have experience in the golf course industry.
Tianna Country Club is a semi-private 18-hole golf course located on the edge of the Chippewa National Forest just south of Walker in Northern Minnesota. Tianna has 5 sets of tees that range from 3,873 to 6,644 yards and includes a full practice facility. In 2007 it was named Member Club of the Year by the Minnesota Golf Association. It is known for its Hole #2 which was chosen for Explore Minnesota Dream 18 and was voted the Best Golf Hole in Minnesota by WCCO viewers.
Duties include, working with current Superintendent on the following:
- Scheduling, training, and supervising of grounds staff
- Pesticide and fertilizer applications
- Assist with scheduling and maintaining irrigation system
- Assist in maintenance of equipment and golf cart fleet
- Assist with daily course and tournament set-up and operations
- Assist with hiring, budgeting, and employee evaluation
Requirements:
- An individual with a 2- or 4-year degree in Turf/Golf Course Management is preferred
- Minnesota Pesticide Applicator License or ability to obtain one
- Valid Driver’s license
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, motivated, energetic, with a high attention to detail
- Knowledge of the game of golf and rules
- Ability to perform physical work. Requirement to lift 75 lbs.
Salary and Compensation:
- Regionally competitive salary range ($45-50k doe)
