Spring Hill Golf Club is located fifteen miles west of Minneapolis, Minnesota in the suburb of Wayzata. Spring Hill is a Tom Fazio designed, private golf club that opened for play in June 1999 and is currently ranked in the Top 100 golf courses by Golf Magazine. Spring Hill Golf Club was designed to reflect the traditions of the game by establishing a professional caddy program which members are required to use daily. Annual rounds are 8,000 for the six months of club operation.
We are looking for two highly motivated individuals to work in coordination with the management staff to implement sound maintenance practices and achieve optimal turfgrass conditions. The internship will involve the student in the refinement of turfgrass quality and daily operation of a private golf club as well as tournament set up, project management, and irrigation programming and maintenance. Our Internship program is designed to prepare a student for the profession of Turfgrass Management by introducing them to all aspects of a golf course management, not just daily maintenance routines
For those students remaining through the fall, we will be undertaking a greens regrassing program during the fall of 2026 where the student will be involved in construction of USGA sand based greens, irrigation installation, and grow-in of bentgrass greens. This will be valuable experience for those entering the Turfgrass Management profession.
