    Position Overview

    Rochester Golf & Country Club (RGCC) is seeking an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent who prioritizes team development and employee well-being, brings a strong passion for golf and agronomy, and desires to be part of a club with a vision to grow into one of Minnesota’s premier clubs.

    The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, foster a positive and collaborative culture, and show exceptional attention to agronomic detail while actively engaging with the maintenance team.

    Club Highlights

    • Golf Course Architects: A.W. Tillinghast, Tom Doak (2018 renovation)

    • Annual Rounds: Approximately 19,000 (April–November)

    • Annual Grounds Budget: $1.1 million

    Turfgrass Information

    • Greens: 007 XL Bentgrass

    • Fairways: 007 XL Bentgrass

    • Tees: Dominant Extreme Bentgrass

    Infrastructure & Equipment

    • Irrigation System: Installed 2018

      • Toro Infinity sprinklers

      • HDPE piping

    • Toro Lynx 2-wire system

    • Equipment Fleet: Toro and John Deere (combination of owned and leased)

    Maintenance Team

    • 4 full-time staff

    • 15–20 seasonal employees

    Educational Requirements

    • 2- or 4-year degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or a related field

    • Minnesota Pesticide Applicator’s License or ability to obtain within 90 days

    Experience Requirements

    • Previous golf course maintenance experience required

    • Ability to thrive in a multi-assistant superintendent environment

    • Strong leadership and team-oriented mindset

    • Positive attitude with excellent communication skills

    • Ability to safely and effectively apply chemical and fertilizer treatments

    • Strong understanding of golf course setup and daily conditioning standards

    • Experience with hand watering to maintain high-level playing conditions

    Special Requirements

    • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times

    • Assist with planning, training, and directing the maintenance staff

    • Ability to safely perform snow removal operations as required

    • Proficiency with computer hardware and software related to:

      • Irrigation systems

      • Equipment management

      • Golf course maintenance operations

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Salary Range: $60,000 – $75,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)

    • Paid Time Off (vacation and sick leave)

    • 401(k) participation

    • GCSAA and regional conference attendance

    • National and local professional association dues covered
