About Island View Golf Club

Founded in 1959 as a 9-hole golf course and then in 1973 with the addition of 9 holes, Island View GC is a semi-private golf course located in Waconia, MN. The course features bentgrass/poa greens, blue/poa tees and fairways. It has a Toro irrigation system with Lynx control and Watertronics pumping station. There is a great commitment to keep the golf course and facilities up to date. A full bunker renovation was just completed and ongoing renovations and improvements are planned for the coming years.

Responsibilities (not limited to):

- Assist the Superintendent & 1st Assistant Supt. with all aspects of golf course maintenance operations.

- Training, scheduling & supervising the seasonal maintenance staff.

- Assist in the maintenance and operation of a Toro irrigation system.

- Fertilizer & pesticide applications, equipment calibration, and record keeping.

- Golf course set-up, routine maintenance, and general mowing needs.

- Assist with in-house/contracted course projects and construction.

- Aid the Equipment Manager with equipment set-up and maintenance.

Expected Hours of Work:

- This is a full-time, year round position.

- Typically 8-9 hour weekdays starting early morning

- Half-days every other weekend during golf season

Required Qualifications:

- Valid driver’s license

- Experience operating golf course equipment

- Knowledge of the game of golf and its etiquette

- Strong communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

- Completion or near completion of a Turfgrass Mgmt degree

- Golf course maintenance experience with relatable skills and knowledge

- Possess a Mn pesticide applicators license or obtain one upon hiring

Salary:

- $45,000-$50,000/year DOE
