Position Overview

The City of Inver Grove Heights is seeking a skilled and motivated Golf Course Technician to join the team at Inver Wood Golf Course, a beautiful and extensively renovated facility featuring a regulation 18-hole course, 9-hole executive course, and practice range.

Under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent, the Golf Course Technician assists in coordinating course maintenance personnel and participates in the care, maintenance, and implementation of plans, projects, and daily operations of the course.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent in performing and supervising all standard golf course maintenance practices

• Assist with coordination and supervision of seasonal staff, including weekend oversight

• Perform application and maintain records for fertilizer and pesticide programs

• Assist with irrigation system maintenance, repair, and scheduling

• Participate in implementation of maintenance plans and special projects

• Ensure high standards of course conditions, safety, and efficiency

Qualifications (Typical)

• Knowledge of turf management practices and golf course maintenance procedures

• Experience with fertilizer and pesticide application (certification preferred or ability to obtain)

• Irrigation system troubleshooting and repair experience

• Ability to supervise and train seasonal staff

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Compensation & Benefits

• Full-time, hourly, non-exempt position

• Scheduled 40 hours per week / 40 weeks per year

• Hiring Range: $24.35 – $26.47 per hour
