Moorhead Country Club in Moorhead, MN, is seeking ambitious and detailed candidate to fill the position of Golf Course Mechanic/Equipment Manager. Moorhead Country Club is a private, 18-hole championship golf course established in 1937 nestled on the banks of the Red River in the Fargo/Moorhead metropolitan area. Moorhead Country Club has experienced tremendous growth in membership over the last several years and currently has full membership.
The Mechanic/Equipment Manager will work closely with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents on golf course-related decisions, where your input and ideas are valued and encouraged. Moorhead Country Club has a newer fleet of Toro equipment, and we are always looking to add and upgrade our equipment fleet. Most of the equipment is powered by small engines- Briggs, Kohler, Kawasaki, or Honda engines. The ideal candidate takes pride in their craft, values precision, and understands their vital role in achieving top level conditions for the membership.
Job Summary
- · Maintain all equipment to manufacturers specifications.
- · Parts ordering and inventory.
- · Communicates any equipment issues to the management team.
- · Troubleshooting and repair of all golf course equipment in a timely manner.
- · Inspect all equipment for potential issues to minimize down time.
- · Daily set-up of reel mowers including checking height and quality of cut.
- · Ensures equipment is clean and in a presentable condition.
- · Regular and preventative maintenance of all equipment
- · Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop space.
- · Prepare and winterize all equipment for storage.
- · Will help with work on the golf course as needed.
- · Accurate record keeping of all equipment repairs and maintenance
- · Newer fleet of Toro golf course equipment with gas and diesel engines.
- · Help manage departmental budget
- · Onsite tools provided.
Desired Qualifications
- · High school diploma, prefer advanced technical training and degree/certificate in mechanical repairs.
- · Extensive experience in small engine repair and troubleshooting
- · Extensive experience with hydraulics and electrical systems.
- · Knowledge of diesel, gas, 2 cycle engines, and snowplows.
- · Welding and light fabrication work.
- · Ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision.
- · Experience with equipment operations
- · Team player
- · Experience with reel mower set-up is very helpful.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
